Friday Feelings for Q2

What's going on with us

Hey Friend,

Happy Friday! We’ve got that Friday feeling, and we hope you do, too. I was meant to send this out on Monday as I was on a bit of a New Order vibe, but you know how it goes with ADHD—one minute, you're on task, and the next, you're down a rabbit hole five days later. Anyway, I whipped up a playlist to start the weekend, and I hope you dig it, too.

Things have been a tad quiet on our end because we’re all hands on deck for the Creative Reset Retreat this weekend. Yep, it’s our first one, and we’re buzzing with excitement! If you’re feeling a bit jelly and want to get in on the next one, we’ve got a waitlist going. Fingers crossed, this becomes our new "thing"—heaven knows we could all use a little creative recharge every now and then. I know I for sure do!

But now… back to business…

It’s officially Q2! Where is this year going?!

Here’s a couple of things to noodle on as you set your sights on what you want to smash this next quarter:

  1. What skill would you like to improve in this quarter, and how can it impact your current projects or goals?

  2. Can you identify a habit holding you back, and what steps can you take to tackle it?

  3. Looking back, what is one thing you wish you had started earlier, and how can you incorporate it into your plans now?

And for those curious about what’s cooking at Freelance Friends, here’s the lowdown:

Alex and I have been slowly trucking along, running things alongside our jobs and other commitments. I’m doing my uni degree and can’t wait for a 6-month summer to get my teeth back into Freelance Friends and organise some fun things for the community.

Accountability Sessions

Big shoutout to Alex, who’s been rocking these morning sessions for nine weeks! We’ve got this awesome crew of ten who roll up every morning, ready to kick some serious butt. It’s all about getting that momentum going and not feeling like you’re always flying solo. We’re pumped to see this community vibe growing, and if you’re itching for a morning boost or wanna meet some cool peeps, we’re looking to get more sessions rolling. Hit us up here if you’re keen on joining a daily 9 am session: https://freelancefriends.fun/morning-accountability/

Workshops

We’ve got some cool stuff lined up for April. Back by popular demand is the "How To Deal With Stress" workshop with our main man, counsellor Kevin Hempsted. The last one was a hit, so we’re bringing it back. It’s all about getting ahead of stress and noticing the signs before burnt-out creeps up on us, and Kev’s got some profound wisdom to share with his 20+ years in the game. We didn’t know we needed the therapy session!

Also, don’t miss Jordan’s “Portfolio Workshop”. If you’ve ever wondered what magic ingredients make a killer portfolio, this is where you want to be.

And hey, we’re all about community here, so if you’ve got a workshop idea or want to lead one, email us at [email protected]. Let’s make it happen!

Catch you all on the flip side, and let’s make this quarter rock!

❤️ from Lauren
